Hi! My name is Ninotchka. Welcome to my little corner of the internets. This blog is almost 10 years old but I've been writing online since 1999 which is a darn long time (hey, that rhymed!).

A little background: I was born the youngest of seven in Puerto Rico and was raised in South Florida. In 1994, I moved to Dallas, TX to "play house" with my then-boyfriend/now-husband, Guy. We've been happily married 18 years and are the proud parents of three marvelous girls; ages 17, 11 and 8.

I worked in the Advertising/Marketing industry for several years before choosing to stay home with my babies. I assure you, there has been no bon-bon eating. Over the years, I've spent my time volunteering, studying and freelancing as a writer, marketing consultant and designer "lite." My articles and essays have been published on Preconception.com, iParentingAdoption.com, ConnectforKids.com, Babyzone.com and in Pregnancy and InFertility Times magazines. I have also independently published the books “Twice Blessed: A Diary of Secondary Infertility” and "Through the Viewfinder ABC's."

In 2007, I created what turned out to be wildly popular Elmo cupcakes. With over 150,000 views online, they have been featured in publications such as Woman's Day Cupcakes Take the Cake and Fiesta Facil, just to name a few. That was fun.

I've dabbled in fine art photography and as a result, my work has traveled to some pretty cool places. My art and photography can be found locally at various group shows and are part of several private collections. My Through the Viewfinder photography was featured on NPR's photography blog and my "In Her Shoes" series was included in the Summer 2011 issue of Square Magazine. In 2011 several paintings in my Dot Series hung in a delightful tea house in Paris, France. In 2012, I was honored to be named the Featured Artist for the Hispanic Women's Network of Texas Fort Worth Chapter Artsi art show and auction.
