I don't care what anybody says...

...Summer's here.

As far as I'm concerned, summer started on Mother's Day weekend when Ham's Orchard opened. Now our beloved pool club is open. Talent show is over. Field Day, this past Friday, was great. The kids will be out of school this coming Thursday. (Kindergarten Graduation is that day, EEK!) The Beavers family reunion is in a couple of weeks (at the old family farm again this year which we LOVE).

Yep, it's summer. And besides Natalie taking a college prep class (required for the collegiate high school she's attending next year) and a couple of camps Elle will be doing, we're FREE, FREE, FREE!

We have no planned "big" vacations (it's been a while since we've been able to swing those!) but I hope against all hope to go home to visit my family. Especially because a certain special someone is celebrating a certain special birthday. Actually, several special someones are celebrating big birthdays this year. So, yeah, ROAD TRIP!!! And, if we're really lucky, we'll get to see some friends along the way.

I'm only slightly bummed I won't be working this summer. I was looking forward to the extra cash & a regularly scheduled diversion from FULL full-time motherhood which can be a real pisser during summer, don't let me kid you. But, it is what it is and everything happens for reason.

All this to say, I'm optimistic. I love summer break.
