Guest Appearance at Chez Nous

Guess who passed by last night?

Isn't it funny? Every kid since the beginning of time has lost baby teeth (several here lately Sam! Katie! Alexis!). Yet, here we were all huddled around Elle in the kitchen encouraging her brave efforts to shake that bad boy loose. Natalie even played mood music (Metro Station's "Shake It" - ha ha ha). And then, Pop!, out the tooth comes and we're all standing there clapping and cheering like morons.

That's the beauty of life, though, isn't it? None of it is very original but even the most commonplace things are exciting when they happen to you and yours. How lucky that my sister and niece were here to celebrate this "first" with us.

OK that is officially the coolest tooth fairy container evah! I had no idea what to do with Sam's tooth, and I knew it would be way too small for the tooth fairy to find under a pillow. So I found a little velvet jewellery pouch at 11 at night when the tooth came out and plopped it in there. So not exotic. Especially when Sam had the thing clasped so tightly in his hand when we went to sleep, that the tooth fairy had to wrestle it out of his hand.

And the mood music cracks me up!

I have never seen such a treasure box for teeth. We had a visit from the tooth fairy two nights ago - a rather large front tooth space is now inhabiting our nearly eight-year-old and it is so weird how much older they look with a gap. And it's ages older when the gap is on the top - I had no idea. But, yes, there was great cheering and celebrating here. It's awesome.

By the way, what's the tooth fairy's going rate in the state where everything is big?

Awesome! I think you even mentioned the other day that Elle was desperately trying to loose that tooth! Way to go!!!

SO glad you all got to share it with Elle. However, the mere description of you all standing there watching her shake it looks makes me feel like passing out! LOL

Omg, I am so white trash, we use ziplock bags, lol. This is SO cute! Although I think it would only fly with my daughter. Congrats to Elle on the new lost tooth!

I know what you mean! Nothing new under the sun, but it IS new and special and unique and a special memory to the family it's happening to. Life is beautiful.
