6 Weird Things - Running Edition
Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 12:48PM 1. After running injury free for nearly 8 years, I still feel funny about taking my walk breaks in front of passing strangers because I'm afraid they'll think I'm a wimp for stopping. Then I think about how those walk breaks have gotten me through two full marathons (that's 26.2 miles), half-marathons, triathlons, countless other races and long runs and I remember I don't give a good "g.d." what some stranger thinks of me. I'm very happy to run injury free, thankyouverymuch!
2. On short runs like today's, I carry my cell phone in my bra.
3. I don't like carrying water bottles on short runs either, so I stashed one in a neighbor's tree today.
4. Charlie and I share the same water bottle. (Gross, I know!)
5. Six miles is Charlie's limit, as evidenced by this morning's run. I was literally having to pull him there at the end. I finally gave up, let him off leash and let him lag behind for the last 1/2 mile or so. He's such a diva!
6. Today was the second time I showered with Charlie after a run. He takes up most of the bathtub, but hey, he needed a good scrubbing and why not kill two birds with one stone? I used Anna Sofia's Johnson's Lavender Baby Wash on him. No wonder he's such a diva. ha ha ha

I think I'm in love with Charlie Brown.
