Illustration Friday - Heroes

If anyone ever needed a hero, it is Wives and Mothers. This is an old sketch that I've posted here before of St. Monica, the Patron Saint for us weary souls.

I pray to her often and in the original sketch I penciled in:

¡Santa Monica, ayudame!

Translation: St. Monica, help me!

And while we're on Patron Saints, here's a design I did for someone very special who just found out she is pregnant this week. We definitely need to pray to St. Elizabeth, too, don't we?!?

Wives and mothers are heroes! Well, I'd like to think most of them are. (Not the ones who knock stuff over in stores and leave nice pregnant ladies to pick up after them. hee hee)

But, you know, a woman's work is never done.

A saint for weary souls...may I borrow her some time?
